Job Description

Navigos Search's client is looking for a legal team leader who will lead the Legal team and serve as the primary legal contact for the company. Ensure legal compliance across business operations, investment, and internal activities. Manage legal risks and support the development of comprehensive legal strategies.
Key Responsibilities
A. Team Management & Supervision
• Develop, propose, and monitor the team’s work plans.
• Assign tasks, oversee execution, and ensure the quality of legal deliverables.
• Train and enhance the team’s legal competencies to meet organizational requirements.

B. Legal Advisory & Control
• Provide legal advice to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and internal departments on matters such as investment, M&A, market expansion, labor law, bidding, etc.
• Review, negotiate, and manage both domestic and international contracts.
• Oversee legal compliance in all documents, contracts, and official records prior to issuance or signing.

C. Corporate Governance & Compliance
• Develop internal legal policies, regulations, and procedures; monitor their implementation and adherence.
• Organize legal updates and ensure company-wide awareness and compliance.
• Lead internal audits and handle violations related to legal compliance.

D. External Relations
• Represent the company in dealings with external legal partners, government agencies, and lawyers.
• Manage procedures related to licensing, business registration, bidding documents, etc.
• Handle disputes and protect the company’s legal interests.

Job Requirements

Education:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Law.
• Lawyer certification or completion of lawyer training is preferred.

Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate legal affairs.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or team leader role.
• Preference for candidates with experience in the IT/technology sector or in companies with legal entities in Japan or global operations.

Languages:
• Proficient in English OR Japanese (all four skills).
